A little bit of history

Maison d'Eau was first born in 1964, built up in the classic way of American Mid-Century Modern: single floor, ranch-style, open front yard, enclosed backyard with pool, open dining room to the kitchen and a sprawling, step-down living room with brick fireplace. Nestled along with others of its kind in the historic neighborhood of Paradise Palms, the house now finds itself perfectly located just east of the Strip, three minutes from the Las Vegas Convention Centre and ten minutes away from the Venetian, the Palazzo, Treasure Island, and The Fashion Show Mall.

Bought 3 years ago from a professional Elvis impersonator, the house was in excellent shape but had lost much of its original appeal. Inspired by vintage design, architecture, and the spirit of 1960's Vegas, in the summer of 2007 we decided to renovate, to transform and re-imagine, upgrade and redecorate and render its original character back into the Vegas scene. Of course, we weren't building a museum, we were building a place to live, so we went for what we like: a smooth blend of old-school influence along with slick, contemporary design. With the help of local artists, carpenters, vintage furniture designers, landscapers, and the genius of Christian Simoulin, a gifted engineer and artisan on loan from the South of France, the house was born again in the way we, and we believe its original designers, always intended it to be.

Maison d'Eau is now open for your pleasure. It is customized to be an oasis of leisure, style, peace and relaxation in a desert of mad-cap mirth. As the casinos and hotels sparkle and flash like so many fire flies in the night, raise a glass by the pool and make a toast in tranquility and style. Viva Las Vegas. The Strip may be only minutes away, but how sweet those minutes can be.

A boutique house

While working on the details of the house, we realized how the process of renovation; the efforts, the surprises, the fortunes and misfortunes, the laughs, and not a few tears, had filled the place with a personality and life entirely its own. It had become a true oasis in the desert, for people to retreat to, to relax, regenerate, and have fun. The fun aspect of it all, more than anything, really took over for us and we went to great lengths in order to make each room a testimony to fun, comfort, and style.

Once settled in and unpacked, please find our lists of services and recommendations: Our Las Vegas Favorite Unknown and Top Secret Places, Favorite Restaurants, Day Trips, Yoga Classes, At-Home Massages, Personal Chefs, etc. Maison d'Eau has a journal as well, ready to receive your comments, suggestions, and hopefully some great Vegas stories of your own. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, and the Maison d'Eau Journal is as infamous as it is instrumental toward this end. (!)

Be sure to write it all down before you leave!
